⚡️🇺🇸 NEWS - In the United States, an app pays you in crypto for reporting migrants.

The ICERAID app, launched in January, has sparked debate beyond the crypto community.

It encourages Americans to report undocumented immigrants to immigration and border enforcement, namely ICE.

In exchange for a photo of the person in question and some basic information, users would supposedly receive cryptocurrency.

According to its founder, Jason Meyers, the program could “revolutionize how governments operate.”

Meyers claims the concept could even be expanded: “You can take a picture of someone committing animal cruelty, a homicide, a kidnapping, an act of terrorism; if you see someone destroying a Tesla, that’s domestic terrorism.”

Except, in reality, none of this seems to be true.

In fact, The Verge quickly pointed out that ICERAID is not affiliated with any authorities.
There’s also no evidence that anyone has actually received crypto payments.

What’s more, the map that supposedly tracks reports is completely fake, featuring doctored photos.

Looking into the founder’s past reveals that Jason Meyers has already faced multiple sanctions.
He was banned from working as a broker by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority after misappropriating at least $700,000 of investor funds.

The app may simply be a way to stir controversy and promote the cryptocurrency created by Jason Meyers.
