During a routine traffic stop in Vaulx-en-Velin (Rhône), police officers arrested a man who had committed several traffic violations.

But that wasn't the end of the story. Upon further investigation, the police discovered that the man also owed nearly €30,000 in taxes.

The Treasury immediately seized the luxury watch and cash found on him to repay part of this debt. An investigation into money laundering was also launched.

In addition, as the suspect refused to unlock his phones as part of the investigation, he was brought before the court for immediate trial and sentenced to ten months in prison.
