⚡️🇧🇹 NEW - A "green" Bitcoin is bringing big changes to Bhutan's economy.

For several years now, Bitcoin has been stimulating its economy, creating jobs and reducing the brain drain, according to the CEO of its sovereign wealth fund.

This country of around 800,000 inhabitants is facing an exodus of young graduates.
The government estimates that more than a tenth of its young people will have left between 2022 and 2023, raising unemployment among this age group to 16.5% by 2024.

"We are a nation that runs 100% on hydropower, and every digital coin we mine in Bhutan using hydropower offsets that coin that is mined using fossil fuels elsewhere"
says Ujjwal Deep Dahal, CEO of the Druk Holding and Investments fund.

"Bitcoin has not only made hydropower more valuable, it has also increased access to foreign currency liquidity."
