⚡️🇵🇾 NEWS - Paraguay is exploring the launch of a Bitcoin reserve.

The country generates 3 times more electricity than it consumes, and will direct the surplus towards BTC mining.

A 2024 study by Senator Salyn Buzarquis and the September 15-16, 2025 conference in Asunción will evaluate the plan, with experts to discuss sustainable mining and Bitcoin's potential in financial systems.

One model is Bhutan, with its 13,000 Bitcoin from hydroelectricity.

HIVE Digital's Yguazú project is already generating 8.5 Bitcoin per day using hydroelectric power from Itaipú.

For the time being, however, the country remains plagued by regulatory uncertainty and the absence of a legal tender for cryptos.
