Consumer confidence index plummets to 50.3:

➥ 2nd lowest level EVER recorded (since 1978)
➥ 10 points below the level during the 2008 financial crisis
➥ -30% over one year
➥ Lower than in June 2022 (with inflation at a 40-year high)

Paradoxically, holders of large stock market positions have seen their morale rise by 11%.

It is nevertheless interesting to note that we are below 2008 levels without a banking collapse, credit crisis, or visible mass unemployment.

Just a slow erosion of living standards...
